POONCH, MARCH 08(KNB): District Mining Officer Poonch, Javid Iqbal with the assistance of Police laid down nakas at various locations of the district.
During the nakas, the District Mining Officer, and team of police department seized two vehicles including one JCB and one Tipper vehicles used in illegal mining, transportation of raw material illegally in Sanai.
After confiscating the vehicles, the DMO handed over the vehicles to the police for safe custody.
The DMO said that Mining department had been holding an extensive drive against the violators for the last many days in various areas of the district including Potha, Bufliaz, Drungali, Sukha Katha, Karmara, Madana, Sheedara etc. He also said that there is zero tolerance against illegal mining. He has appealed to everyone not to be a part of illegal mining and not to buy material from any mining blocks without e-challan and to take legal action against anyone caught without e-challan.(KNB)
