Two HM Militants Killed in Pulwama Encounter

Pulwama 10 Nov (KNB): Two Hizb ul Mujahideen militants were killed in a gunfight with the security forces in Tikken area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday,

The bodies were retrieved from the site of the gunfight. The slain were identified as Liyaqat Wani of Below and Wajid ul Islam of Babhara village of Pulwama.

According to reports reached to Kashmir News Bureau, “Thousands of people descended on Below and Babhara –natives villages of the slain militants as their bullet-riddled bodies reached.

Thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers of the two militants killed in a gunfight with the government forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Reports said that multiple rounds of funeral prayers were held for both the slain militants, Wajid-ul- Islam and Liaqat Ahmad Wani at Babhara and Below villages respectively.

However, complete shutdown is being observed in the Pulwama district after the killing of two local militants on Saturday. The mobile internet services has also been blocked in the area.

According to officials, Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter. Police has registered a case and initiated investigation in the instant matter.

Meanwhile , A complete shutdown is being observed today in Tral township of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district against the killing of a Jaish-e Mohammad militant yesterday. All shops, business establishments, government and private offices remained closed while public transport was off the roads in the area.

However, After the gunfight officials said, “Citizens are once again requested not to venture inside the encounter zone since such an area can prove dangerous due to stray explosive materials. People are requested to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosives materials if any.” (KNB)
