Trains Back on Tracks After Almost Year of Hiatus

Srinagar 22 February (KNB): The trains in Kashmir valley saw the tracks after almost a year of gap due to the Coronavirus infections. Train services here will remain partially open between the stations of Baramulla and Banihal on Monday for the people.   

As per officials, the train was scheduled to leave from Banihal at 11:25 a.m and at 9:10 a.m from Baramulla on Monday. While the train was trialed run on February 21 between stations of Baramulla and Banihal.   

However, the train service will remain partially open from Monday with two runs each day between its North station and Banihal.   

Pertinently, the railway here starts after almost a year during which the whole country and the world was and is fighting to the pandemic which incurred huge losses to the business world around.

Similarly, the railway in Kashmir also witnessed a huge losses after suspending the train services for the passengers and other activities to counter the spread of Coronavirus infections. (KNB)
