Srinagar 15 December (KNB): A lone survivor of the Tamil Nadu chopper crash, Group Captain Varun Singh, has succumbed to injuries this morning, said Indian Air Force on Wednesday.
The incident of chopper crash took place on 8th December during afternoon at Coonoor area of Tamil Nadu. The chopper of IAF was ferrying CDS Bipin Rawat, his wife and other 12 officials and armed personnel which crashed some kilometres away from the spot where the chopper was about to land.
In the crash, Bipin Rawat, his wife and other eleven officials and armed personnel died of their injuries immediately after the incident. However, Group Captain Varun Singh was the lone survivor in the incident and was under treatment since then. He, as per IAF, succumbed to his injuries this morning.
Today Indian Air Force on its twitter handle said, “IAF is deeply saddened to inform the passing away of braveheart Group Captain Varun Singh, who succumbed this morning to the injuries sustained in the helicopter accident on 08 Dec 21. IAF offers sincere condolences and stands firmly with the bereaved family.” (KNB)
