Bandipora, May 8 (KNB): Three persons allegedly drowned in Hajin Nallah near a bridge in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday locals said.
Sources told Kashmir News Bureau (KNB) that the incident took place in Hajin Nallah, triggering panic in the area. Soon after the incident, rescue teams and locals rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.
Reports said that two bodies have reportedly been rescued from the River Jehlum, while efforts are underway to trace the third person.
Meanwhile, a large number of locals gathered near the site as authorities continued the operation. The identities of the victims and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately known.
Officials, however, were yet to officially confirm the incident when this report was filed.
