Srinagar 2 July (KNB): Three Lashkar-e-Toiba Militants have been killed during the ongoing encounter in Rajpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Officials told news agency Kashmir News Bureau that 3 militants affiliated with proscribed militant outfit LeT have been killed in the gun-battle and the operation is still going on.
The encounter ensued late last night after a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army’s 44RR, on basis of specific intel about the presence of militants in the area, launched a cordon and search operation.
Upon reached the suspected spot, hiding militants opened fire towards the security forces and the fire fight ensued.
Earlier, official sources revealed that during the initial stage of the encounter, an army personnel sustained bullet wounds and was rushed to a military hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries. (KNB)
