Pulwama 2 July (KNB): One unidentified militant has been killed in the encounter which started late last night in Rajpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Officials said that a militant, who’s identity is yet to be ascertained, has been killed during gun-battle and the operation is still going on.
The encounter ensued late last night after a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Army’s 44RR, on basis of specific intel about the presence of militants in the area, launched a cordon and search operation.
Upon reached the suspected spot, hiding militants opened fire towards the security forces and fire fight ensued.
Earlier, official sources revealed that during the initial stage of the encounter, an army personnel sustained bullet wounds and was rushed to a military hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.
As per official sources, fresh firing was heard at the encounter site as the story was being filed. (KNB)
