Tasaduq Mufti reason for rift between me and Mehbooba, says Imran Ansari

Srinagar, Aug 16 (KNB): Disgruntled People’s Democratic Party (PDP) MLA Molvi Imran Raza Ansari has said that the rift between him and the Party began when the erstwhile Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti assigned all her decision-making powers to the non-political actors and when she wanted her Bollywood cinematographer brother Tasaduq Mufti to be in the party.

In an interview with a local daily Rising Kashmir, Imran said, “Tasaduq is no one in politics. He is someone who was brought from Mumbai to rule the elected members”.
When asked who these non-political actors were, the MLA from Pattan constituency said that those were a few in number starting from Mehbooba’s family to the likes of Naeem Akhtar and Peerzada Mansoor Hussain.
In his answer to a question on how did the former Chief Minster’s family intervene, Imran said, “Whenever anyone interferes in the domain of a politician, he or she no longer remains a politician. Whenever there were issues like posting of officers or starting a new scheme, it was always her family that would decide about it. We could not decide about such issues even being politicians. Whatever her family members decided or were interested in, they did it on her behalf” .

Imran also criticised the presence of Naeem Akthar in the party saying that the latter created problems for the party. “The person who doesn’t know about politics, the man who has never went before the electorate, and the man who throughout his life remained a bureaucrat, such a person introduced policies that created problems for the party. The question is why is Naeem Akhtar at the party in the first place? We didn’t have shortage of elected representatives. In Akhtar’s native village, PDP failed to secure even a single vote. The most unfortunate part is Mehboobaji would listen to such a man instead of an elected MLA”.
On government formation, Imran said that he is not in touch either at party level or individually with anyone from BJP.  He also said that he was comfortable with the BJP when in power as it had been good to them. He blamed Mehbooba’s incompetence for not delivering, adding that BJP did as she wanted. (KNB)
