Srinagar 11 February (KNB): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kashmir, paid floral tribute to Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Former Leader of Jana Sangh; the man who gave the philosophy of Antodaya i.e. reaching last poor man in the line or “Ekatamvaad” on his death anniversary today.

A statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau said that the National General Secretary Tarun Chugh while paying tributes to the ideologue Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay, said that every year, BJP organises ‘Samarpan Diwas’ on death anniversary of Deen’Dayal Upadhyay.

“The ‘Samarpan’ offered by party activists is mark of respect to the great soul and the belief that our party is being run on strong principles that were advocated by Upadhyay throughout his life,” he said.

“He (Upadhayay) never worked to gain popularity or to be elected as an MP or MLA but worked entirely for the welfare of the nation and lived his life in simplicity. My experience and you too must have felt that as we think about Deendayal, we speak, we hear, every time we experience a novelty in his thoughts,” Chugh said.

“Swadesh pujyate raja scholar universally venerated”, that is, you can get limited respect only by the power of power. Where the power of power is effective, there will be respect, but scholar is respected everywhere, the statement said, adding that Deendayal is an example of this idea.
“How a leader should be in social life; how should the democracy and values of India live,” Chugh said adding that Deendayal is also a great example of this.

Chugh also said that the vision of the Pandit was very clear that the true rise of India can only be achieved through “Integral Humanism” and “Antodaya”.

“Strong advocate of nationalism, integral humanism having core of ‘Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah’, Antodaya (benefit to the last person standing in the row), great economic policy, Deendayal was a social and political thinker who loved his motherland beyond anything,” he added.
