Suspected Militants Attack BJP Leader Anwar Khan’s Residence in Srinagar; Cop Injured

Srinagar 1 April (KNB): Suspected militants attacked Baharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Anwar Khan’s residence at Nowgam area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Thursday.

As per Kashmir News Bureau reports, during late morning hours today, unidentified gunmen opened fire at the guard post of Khan’s residence in Aaribagh Kanipora in the outskirts of the City, injuring one security guard.

An official of the party confirmed the incident and said that the attack was on the guard post situated outside Khan’s house in which the guard on duty sustained injuries.

He said that the injured cop, identified as Rameez Raja, has been shifted to a hospital for treatment.

Pertinent to mention that BJP’s Mohammad Anwar Khan is the Baramulla district general secretary and in-charge of Kupwara district. (KNB)
