Srinagar 20 April (KNB): Number of candidates who had recently qualified the Panchayat Accounts Assistant (PAA) examinations which was conducted last year, held a protest on Tuesday against the authorities for failing to announce the final selection list.
The PAA aspirants gathered around at Press Enclave in Srinagar and raised slogans against the authorities and demanded immediate intervention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha into the matter.
One among the several protestors, Syed Sadam, told news agency—Kashmir News Bureau— that since the declaration of results last year, the final selection list is yet to be declared.
The result declaration of Panchayat Accounts Assistant examinations took place in December last year.
“We (candidates) were told that the final selection list will be out within 45 days,” he said.
However, “Since the result declaration, more than 100 days have passed but here we all are, still waiting for the final selection list,” Sadam said, adding that this is utterly disappointing.
He said that more than 1889 candidates passed the examinations, which were conducted through SSB in 2020.
“We have been patiently waiting for the final selection list, patiently waiting for a positive response from the authorities for all these days but eventually we had to take up to the streets. We had to come out and raise our voice,” Sadam said.
Furthermore, Sadam along with other protesting candidates, appealed to the J&K UT Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to personally intervene into the matter.
“We request LG Manoj Sinha to look into this matter personally and every one of us hopes that he will ensure that the final selection list is made public without further delay,” Sadam said. (KNB)
