Srinagar, November 10(KNB): The State Investigation Agency (SIA) Kashmir executed a second round of searches at 10 different locations across Srinagar, Pulwama, and Anantnag districts today.
In a statement issued to news agency KNB SIA official said, This operation follows the initial searches conducted on November 8, 2023, as part of the ongoing investigation into FIR No. 08/2023 at Police Station SIA Kashmir.
The case, focused on terror funding, has unearthed a significant sum of 85 crores allegedly raised and laundered through covert channels. The funds are suspected to be directed towards supporting terrorism and secessionist activities within the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, statement added.
Today’s searches targeted two locations in Srinagar, seven in Pulwama, and one in Anantnag. Conducted in the early hours, the special teams of SIA seized a trove of incriminating material, including electronic gadgets such as mobile devices and laptops, as well as essential documents like passports, cheques, passbooks, and credit/debit cards, they said.
The operation signifies the SIA’s unwavering commitment to eradicating the terror ecosystem from Jammu & Kashmir. Prior to today’s efforts, extensive searches had been conducted in New Delhi and various districts of the Kashmir valley on Wednesday, statement further added. (KNB)
