Pulwama 12 April (KNB): In order to help women facing harassment, abuse and violence, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Pulwama, Ashish Mishra (IPS) inaugurated a Help Desk for Women at Police Station Litter of the district.
Officials told Kashmir News Bureau that aim to set up the Help Desk is to help girls/women in distress and ensure immediate redressal of their grievances.
The help desk will be active 24/7 and we request women to feel free to contact us anytime, officials added.
On the occasion, SSP Pulwama was accompanied by SDPO Litter, Furqan Qadri and SHO Litter Mohd. Hafeez Choudry and other officials.
Moreover, the contact numbers of the Help Desk are: 9541915031 and 9541915020.
Locals of the area appreciated the initiative taken up by the police and said that it was much needed to assure women that their voice will be heard and timely action will be taken. (KNB)
