Srinagar 28 July (KNB): Traffic Police authorities on Thursday said that there would be a traffic movement from Srinagar to Jammu and vice versa on the NHW-44 tomorrow subject to fair weather condition.
They further said that light motor vehicles passengers shall be allowed tomorrow from both sides of Jammu to Srinagar and from Srinagar to Jammu only after the better road condition and clement weather.
“HMVs shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar after the tail of down HMVs crosses Jakheni. TCU Udhampur shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the HMVs,” the traffic official said.
Regarding SSG road, It was said that tomorrow on 30-07-2021, no vehicular movement shall be allowed from either side on Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road in view of maintenance/repairing of Zoji la axis.
However, LMVs from both sides and HMVs (upto ten tyres) from Srinagar towards Poonch shall be allowed on Mughal road, said traffic official, adding that “LMVs from Behramgalla 0800 hrs upto 1500 hrs., from Herpora 0800 hrs upto 1600 hrs & HMVs from Herpora 0900 hrs. upto 1500 hrs.”
Pertinently, the Kishtwar-Sinthan road is through for both ways traffic of LMVs only, subject to fair weather and road condition.
The officials further said that Security Forces are advised not to ply against the advisory/traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. “They may ply from Jammu towards Srinagar after confirming the status of NHW,” added the official. (KNB)
