Srinagar, 11 March (KNB): In a case titled Suhail Manzoor Bhat Vs SSP Traffic Srinagar, a Srinagar Court has imposed a fine of ₹1000 on a traffic police officer for issuing an incorrect e-challan.
Highlighting deficiencies in the e-challan system, the court emphasized the need for proper training and diligence among traffic police officers.
The case arose from an erroneous e-challan issued to a vehicle with registration number JK01AL-2038, which was later found to belong to a different vehicle.
The court dismissed the defective e-challan, ordered compensation of Rs. 1000 to the applicant, and instructed the concerned officer to exercise caution in future e-challan issuances.-KNB
