Srinagar 27 May (KNB): A Special Session of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) is scheduled to be held on Saturday 29th of May at 3:00pm at Municipal Central Office, Karanagar, Srinagar.
As per a notice issued by the order of Mayor and undersigned by Secretary SMC, the meeting of General Council (Special Session) will take place in SMC Lawn situated at Municipal Central Office for discussions and decisions on Resolution moved by Danish Shafi, Corporator Ward No. 60.
It read, “All the councillors are requested to kindly make it convenient to attend the said meeting on scheduled day, date, time and venue.”
Moreover, the sitting Corporator of SMC, Danish Shafi Bhat moved this resolution for its discussion and decision of General Council on certain facts and figures, stated as, “that the present Joint Commissioner (Planning) posted in SMC is not worthwhile to hold such important post, being quite irresponsible for his duties assigned to him as JCP.”
The second point mentioned in the resolution is that there has been numerous complaints from the general public especially the person who intend to construct their residential houses and that the behaviour and working of the present JCP, SMC is against the prescribed norma and attitude while dealing the building permission cases in no way conducive, with the result the general public is totally fed-up.
The third point stated is, “that such un-satisfactory performance of the present Joint Commissioner (Planning), SMC is paving ways for using other illegal ways and means by the General Public with the result figures are being raised on the whole working system of SMC and also on the officers who are at the helm of affairs in SMC.”
Furthermore, it was also stated that, “as such on the aforesaid grounds this resolution is placed before General Council for discussion and decision with regard to transfer of the present JCP from SMC and posting of a suitable person thereto.” (KNB)
