Srinagar 30 March (KNB): Municipal councillor, who sustained injuries in militant attack in north Kashmir’s Sopore yesterday, succumbed at SMHS hospital last night.
Officials told Kashmir News Bureau that Shams-ud-din Peer, who sustained bullet injuries in the militant attack outside municipal office at Kashmir’s Sopore town, succumbed at SMHS hospital during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
Pertinent to mention that on Monday, militants opened fire at the Municipal Office in Sopore, killing a municipal councillor, Riyaz Ahmad Peer and Personal Security Officer Shafqat Nazir Khan.
Moreover, regarding the attack on councillors, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were involved. (KNB)
