April 22: After their recent blockbuster together, Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar are all set with their next titled, ‘Sooryavanshi’. While this time Akshay Kumar will be leading, the makers kept the fans waiting in anticipation for the name of the actress starring opposite the ‘Khiladi’ actor.
Earlier, reports were rife that Katrina Kaif will be seen playing the female lead in the cop drama. Confirming the same, today, Karan Johar took to his Twitter handle to officially welcome Katrina to the ‘Sooryavanshi’ family.
Sharing the same post on her Instagram handle, Katrina too expressed her excitement for the project.
Their announcement posts also revealed that the film is slated for an Eid release next year. The team will start shooting for the film later this summer.
Meanwhile, Akshay has projects like, ‘Good News’, ‘Housefull 4’ and ‘Mission Mangal’ in his pipeline and Katrina Kaif is busy with the shooting of her upcoming Salman Khan starrer ‘Bharat’.
