Srinagar 23 September (KNB) Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Secretary Akbar Sofi was given bail by a special court on Thursday in a Shujaat Bukhari’s assassination case.
As per officials, Sofi has been given bail in Shujaat Bukhari’s case while he would continue to remain in custody in Kashmir Fight Blog Case.
In Kashmir Fight Blog Case, five persons were arrested by police this year who were as per police official running unlawful content and among whom one of the accused, Akbar Sofi, is going to remain in custody in an FIR — 82/2020 under relevant sections of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
But on Thursday, a special court gave bail to Sofi in Shujaat Bukhari’s assassination case, who was killed in 2018 in the premises of Press Colony, Srinagar.
Pertinent to mention that a couple of accused in Kashmir Fight Blog Case were given bail this year. (KNB)
