Snowfall: DC Kupwara Directs For Closure of Border Roads to Save Precious Lives From Accidents

Srinagar 05 November (KNB): In view of the snowfall at several higher and middle reaches of J&K on Friday, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara requests district SSP to close the Border roads of the area in order to prevent any fatal accident.   

DC Kupwara apprised on Friday the district SSP in an official communique about the conditions of the roads in the district and the need to restrict the traffic movement following the fresh snowfall. 

SSP Kupwara was told to restrict movement of traffic on roads in Kupwara and border areas including Keran, Karnah, Machil, Jumagund, Budnambal and Kumkadi. 

An official letter addressed to SSP Kupwara reads “In view of the fresh snowfall in Border areas, slippery condition of roads, and in order to save the precious lives from accidental mishaps, it is requested to restrict traffic movement on Kupwara to Border areas including Keran, Karnah, Machil, Jumagund, Budnambal and Kumkadi, both sides, till weather gets improved or further orders are issued in the subject (sic).” (KNB)
