Talking to Kashmir News Bureau, an official said that Enforcement wing of the corporation along with concerned Enforcement Officer, under the supervision of Chief Enforcement Officer went to the area and during the inspection found six shops were illegally constructed.

“The owner had taken the advantage of recent eventualities and had established six shops without any legal documentation or permissions,” the official said.

He added that the team was put to work and all the six shops were completely demolished.

Regarding the same, SMC Commissioner Gazanfar Ali said that a tight vigil is being kept on constructional activities and the structures which are being constructed without building permission or getting deviated from the approved building plan will face the similar actions.

He said, “Will find out how these six shops were constructed and who provided assistance in it. We won’t stop at just demolishing these illegal constructions but will also get hold of those officials who are providing help/assistance of any kind in these matters.”

Gazanfar Ali emphasised that citizens should apply for a proper building permission from Competent Authority.
“I advise people not to construct any structure without proper permission,” he said.

He further asserted that SMC will continue with the demolition drives with regard to unauthorised construction, and will also ensure that no construction without permission is allowed to take place.(KNB)
