Srinagar 08 March (KNB): A meeting which was going to take place between SMC Commissioner Athar Aamir Khan and ward officers, building inspectors on Monday was not allowed, and the Council hall in which the meeting was slated to start was locked by the Corporator Danish Ahmad Bhat.
In an unusual scene emerging from SMC on Monday, the Council Hall was locked after Corporator Danish Bhat did not allow the meeting to get started. The seated officers were forced to leave the hall, which rendered the meeting between them and the SMC Commissioner not taking place.
Sources said that the scenes erupted after the Corporator Danish did not allow a prospective meeting to take place by citing the reason that the Commissioner cannot use the chair of Mayor and the seats of councilors cannot be used by the other officers.
However, the notice regarding the meeting, which was going to be headed by the Commissioner SMC, was generated on 6th March. The notice also appealed to the officers to join the meeting on March 8 at 12.00 noon.
It was said that the agenda of the meeting was “Disposal of complaint received, Action taken against illegal construction ward-wise, Pendency related to Illegal Constructions, Status of Illegal Construction/Violations/Deviations ward wise and ward wise sealing and de-sealing of structures with remarks.” (KNB)
