Smart meters bring miseries to people of city: Arif Laigaroo

Srinagar 10 February (KNB): The Peoples Democratic Party ex state secretary youth and constuiency incharge habba kadal Arif Laigaroo on Friday in a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB said that the smart meters of PDD has brought miseries to people across the city as electricity is facing cuts for non payments in time despite the fact that masses are clearing dues under amnesty scheme.

He said that the residents said that they were not in a position to pay the “excessive bills” generated by the devices.

Laigaroo said that owing to the skyrocketing prices of essentials, their budget is already stressed and they won’t be able to meet the additional expenses. He said no one is rich enough to afford the enormous electricity costs.

Pertinently, the people of Nowgam yesterday held a protest after their electricity was snapped from power grid. Statement added (KNB)
