SKIMS Soura All Set to Give Covid Vaccine Jabs on January 16: Officials

Srinagar 13 January (KNB): The authorities of Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura are all prepared to give the first doses of vaccines to a priority group selected by the Central Government from January 16, i.e., on Saturday. 

According to the Medical Superintendent of Skims, Soura, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Jan, the preparations regarding the vaccinations are all set and are waiting for the 16th January to give first jabs of the vaccine as per the guidelines of the Central government. 

“The vaccination will be administered to the healthcare workers on a voluntary basis. We have prepared eight booths in our institution for the vaccinations and have put up the proper observation and waiting areas. These things are all complete along with the manpower needed during the vaccination,” Jan said. 

He further added that the number of centres had been chosen for the vaccination throughout the Kashmir valley.

However, the vaccines — Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin and Covishield by Oxford-AstraZeneca and Serum Institute of India — have been approved by the government of India to use against the spread of coronavirus. (KNB)
