Shopian 14 October (KNB): Two unidentified militants have been killed by the government forces in a gun-battle,which took place in Chakoora village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
According to KNB reports the gun-battle took place in an open field on Wednesday afternoon.
An official said that a joint team of Police, army’s 34 RR and CRPF initiated a cordon and search operation (CASO), after the input about the presence of some militants in the area was received.
He added that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering a gun-battle. (KNB)
