Srinagar 9 April (KNB): Regarding an ongoing encounter in South Kashmir’s Shopian, which broke out between militants and security forces on Thursday afternoon, police said that the surviving militants are trapped inside the mosque.
Till late last night, forces engaged in the encounter had killed three unidentified militants, and according to police, more militants are trapped inside the mosque for whom a brother of one militant and Imamsahib was sent inside to persuade them to surrender.
“Brother of holed up militant & local Imamsahab sent inside mosque to persuade the militants to come out & surrender. Efforts are on to save the mosque,” said police.
Pertinently during the encounter some army personnel had also injured. (KNB)
