Srinagar, May 13(KNB): Security forces killed three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists in the Shukroo forest area of Keller in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday.
A top police officer revealed that the operation was launched after receiving specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the area. A joint team of police and army launched a massive cordon and search operation in the forests of Kellar.
As the security personnel began their combing operation, the hiding terrorists opened fire on the team, triggering a fierce gunfight. During the exchange of fire, three LeT terrorists were killed, official told.
The identities of the slain terrorists are currently being ascertained. The operation is ongoing, with security forces conducting a thorough search of the area.(KNB)
