Srinagar, October 29 (KNB): In a shocking incident, a man was arrested for raping his daughter in Kunzar area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.
According to the police official, the Police Station Kunzer received a written complaint about the rape. The complaint was filed by Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat stating that his sister (name withheld) has been raped by his father Abdul Majid Bhat.
“Despite of the strict laws against the sexual exploitation, they are getting more frequent with each passing year, It is very shameful for a father to sexually abuse his own daughter, actually the act of sexual exploitation done by anyone is shameful and punishable, ” said Sadiya, a Law student.
However, the statements of victim and other witnesses under relevant provisions of law were recorded during the Investigation. Meanwhile, the medical examination confirmed the rape.
A case was registered in Police station Kunzer under FIR NO 117/2018, Section 376 RPC and investigation was initiated in the instant matter.
Eventually, the accused father Abdul Majid Bhat was arrested today by Police. Further investigation of the case is going on.
The state of Jammu and Kashmir is becoming prone to such brutalities. Every now and then there are reports on sexual molestation,sexual harassment and rape cases .
Earlier this year, the state witnessed two major heart wrenching rape and murder incidents that occurred in Kathua and Uri. The whole nation was shaken by these bone-chilling incidents and many protests across the nation were held against these horrific brutalities.
The laws should be implemented properly so as the crimes and sexual exploitation are taken seriously and reduce the rate of these crimes in the valley and nation as a whole. (KNB)
