He said that the incident took place in the month of October last year. “ As we came to know about the burst of main Water-pipeline, we had no idea that water leaking out will render such damage to our home,” Mir said.

“As days passed by, we realized that the leaking water had weekend the plinth and we could feel the floor moistened,” he added.

Mir, who is a laborer and the only bread earner of the family, said that after the unfortunate incident, minor cracks started to develop.

Moreover, due to recent rainfall in the region, the condition of the structure has worsened. The cracks have widened further.

Mir said that so far “We some how managed to live here despite the damage the house had already suffered but due to recent rain fall, the cracks have widened further and I just don’t feel like taking the risk of living their along with my family but I know no other choice.”

He said that he does not know what to say to his children amid these terrible and testing times.

Visuals in possession of KNB depict Jagged cracks though out the floor, walls, ceiling and plinth. It is certainly risky to stay inside the residential structure, as the cracks are wider than several inches at some places. There is a very high risk for the house to collapse at anytime.

Fareed Ahmad Mir is specially abled person and the damage sustained by the house, built through hard earned money, is giving him nightmares about his family of Eight ending up homeless.

“I have sent a team of Naib Tehsildar and Pathwari to visit the house of Mir and take complete assessment of the damage endured by the residential structure due to rainfall and other factors.”

“I have also directed the team to rehabilitate the family,” she said, further claiming, “Infact, the team has already done it.”

Moreover, Mir refuted both of the Tehsildar’s claims. He said that no team has visited him so far.
