Srinagar 22 September (KNB): A sentry in North Kashmir’s Handwara area on Tuesday late night opened fire upon a policeman after assuming him as an attacker, as per senior police official.
The official said that the sentry opened fire upon a policeman posted at police station Handwara after he forcefully entered a temple in the area during midnight.
He said that the sentry assumed it was an attack from Anti National Elements and opened fire upon cop, which resulted in an injury to him.
However, the injured policeman later died of his injury and the deceased cop was identified as Ajay Dhar, a resident of Langate Handwara. (KNB)
