Safina Beigh, Nazir Laway, Fayaz Mir, Two Others Join JKPC

Srinagar 7 August (KNB): Two former MPs Nazir Ahmad Laway and Fayaz Ahmad Mir, chairperson District Development Council Baramulla Safina Beigh, Former MLC and Advocate Murtaza Khan and Former Deputy Mayor Sheikh Imran on Saturday joined the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference in the presence of the party president Sajad Gani Lone.

While addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Sajad Lone welcomed all the leaders and said, “I welcome all the leaders from the depths of my heart.”

Lone said that he has known them all for a long time.
“I have family relations with Safina. Murtaza is a friend. I have been telling Nazir Laway for the last 15 years and now he has finally decided to come to his big brother’s home,” he said.

He also said, former Deputy Mayor Sheikh Imran has been his partner in jail and has spent a lot of time with him.

As per news agency Kashmir News Bureau, Party President said that they have hope that the way their party is expanding and these renowned personalities, who have good influence over people, are joining the party, “the challenges that are in-front of Jammu and Kashmir and all that has taken place in last two years; I have complete faith and hope that JKPC as a collective team that is developing now, will come upto the expectation of the people and will face all these enormous challenges.”

Responding to a question about leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nazir Ahmad Laway and Fayaz Ahmad Mir said that they have not left PDP but were kicked out.

Laway said that they worked with Mufti Mohammad Syed and built the party but after (the demise) of Mufti Syed, the party got scattered.

“There was no way left, we didn’t know what to do and where to lead (the party). For the past 2 years we have been trying to figure it out,” he said, adding that they finally decided to work under the leadership of Sajad Lone at JKPC.

He also claimed that in coming years people will see how successful the party (JKPC) will be.

In response to the same question, Fayaz Mir said that they are the ones who built PDP and brought it to the level it has reached now.

Moreover, asked about the opinion of Sajad Lone over the alleged forcing of opening shops in Srinagar on the second anniversary of the abrogation of article 370 (5th of August 2021), He responded, “In a democracy, I/we will not endorse any action where anyone is forcefully made to open or close the shops.”

Pertinent to mention that Imran Reza Ansari, Abdul Gani Vakil, Syed Basharat Bukhari, Peerzada Mansoor, Khursheed Alam, Raja Ejaz Ali, Irfan Panditpuri, Bashir Ahmad Dar, and others were present on the occasion. (KNB)
