River Police Recovers Teenager’s Body After 6 Days

Srinagar 27 May (KNB): Body of 17 year old boy, who had slipped into river Jehlum on 21st of May, was recovered by River Police in Noorbagh area of Srinagar.

Officials said that 11 class student from Chattabal, identified as Momin Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar had slipped into the river on Friday evening of last week, while he was crossing the foot bridge at Rampora Veer in Chattabal area of Srinagar.

They said that during the morning hours today, the body of the teenage boy was spotted and recovered by the River Police.

Officials further said that the body of the youth will under go necessary medico-legal formalities before being handed over to his relatives to conduct last rites.

Moreover, police has also taken cognizance of the incident. (KNB)
