Srinagar 03 March (KNB): The residents of the main town Chadoora held a protest demonstration against the authorities against the shifting of the degree college from main town Chadoora to Wathoora village in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

The protesters blocked the main road of the Chadoora leading to Srinagar resulting in the traffic mess, and all the business establishments and the shops were shut in the area

People alleged that the degree college was issued to the Chadoora area and the higher authorities inspected the site where the college was to be constructed, and were satisfied with the land provided for the college premises, but without any genuine reason or notification the said college was shifted to Wathora

Talking to Kashmir News Bureau Fayaz Ahmad Khan said, “The authorities inspected the site for construction of the college and we were happy that college will be built very soon in our locality but unfortunately the college was shifted to another place within no time.

He further said our locality is situated in center of the Chadoora Tehsil and connects the more than 30 to forty villages and the preference should have been given to our locality.”

Talking to the special secretary higher education Chowdary Rashid Azam Inqilabi on the issue he said “where ever the state land will be available free of cost the college wiil be constructed at that site.”

He added the concerned Deputy commissioner and our team will examine the state land if the land will be suitable as per criteria in chadoora , we have no problem.” (KNB)
