Srinagar November 4(KNB): Governor Jammu and Kashmir, Satya Pal Malik on Monday said, ‘’the killing of the two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Kishtwar was only to disrupt the upcoming Panchayat polls.’’
While addressing to a press conference in Jammu, winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir he said, ‘’Terrorism exists in Valley, it has to be tackled at the roots and we must fight on it with mind.”
“Two BJP leaders were killed by militants to disrupt upcoming Panchayat elections which is going to be held from 15 Nov,” he added.
On 1st November, BJP State Secretary, Anil Parihar and his elder brother Ajeet Parihar, who was also affiliated with the saffron party were shot dead by gunmen near their residence in Kishtwar town in the evening.
When asked about the threat posters surfacing in Doda, he said, “This is routine in Kashmir and we have successful conducted ULB Polls.”
However, while commenting on communal violence, he said “No doubt some miscreants tried to take advantage of this situation in Kishtwar as the area witnessed lot of violence before, but both Muslims and Hindus tickle the situation smoothly.
He further said, “For peace we are always ready to talk with everyone, as I am here to carry forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. (KNB)
