Rain, Snow To Continue Today; Likely Improvement From Tomorrow Onwards: MeT

Srinagar 23 March (KNB): The Meteorological department on Tuesday said that the weather in Kashmir is going to remain inclement today with likely significant improvement to it predicted from tomorrow onwards.

As the rains in the plains and the snow on the upper reaches were witnessed in the valley, which the weather forecaster had already predicted, the MeT Srinagar officials today said they are looking for the likely improvement in the weather from tomorrow onwards. 

However, the MeT has not yet provided any clear directions regarding the weather ahead, but it has been maintained that the widespread moderate to heavy rain/snow would continue today in the valley. 

Pertinently, a recent official weather update said, “Widespread Moderate to Heavy rain /snow most likely to continue today. Significant improvement likely from tomorrow onwards.” 

However, the temperature across the valley recorded last night was — Srinagar 4.6 degrees C, Qazigund 4.6 degrees C, Kokernag 3.6 degrees C, Pahalgam 3.2 degrees C, Gulmarg -0.9 degrees C and Kupwara 2.0 degrees C.  

Furthermore, the ongoing rains in the valley, especially in Srinagar, is reinforcing the given prediction of the weather forecasters, who had expected the inclement weather in the valley from 22 to 24 March (KNB).
