Pulitzer Winning Journalist Danish Siddiqui Killed While Reporting in Afghanistan

Srinagar 16 July (KNB): Reuters Pulitzer prize winner Indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui has been killed while reporting in Spin Boldak district of Afghanistan.

Reportedly, Danish was embedded with Afghan security forces and was covering their operations in the region. He was killed in clashes between Afghan security forces and Taliban while on his way to report from the frontlines in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar.

In 2018, Siddiqui became the first Indian to win the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography for documenting the Rohingya refugee crisis.

Remembering his work, several journalists as well as admirers of his work, across the world took to social media platform to express their grief. (KNB)
