Protesters set ablaze vehicle in Rafiabad

Sopore, Feb 23(KNB):  Protesters on Saturday attacked and set ablaze vehicle in which People’s Conference leader Abdul Gani Vakil was travelling in Shutloo Rafiabad.

According to reports reached to Kashmir News Bureau, a group of people who were waiting for funeral of local militant killed with his associate in Warpora Encounter on Friday, attacked and set ablaze vehicle in which People’s Conference Leader Abdul Gani Vakil was traveling at Shutloo Rafiabad Baramulla.

However, Reports further said “Vakil managed to escape from the site with the help of local Police.”

According to Police, Mob set ablaze vehicle near Shatloo area of Rafiabad in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday belongs to a common man.

Police in a statement said that said that today at about 1530 hours an information was received by Police station Panzlla about the torchering of vehicle at Shatloo Rafiabad through unruly mob who were protesting about an alleged death of militant Wasim Malla of this particular village.

The spokesperson further said that after inquring /investigating the matter it surfaced that the torched vehicle belongs to one Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh Son of Wali Mohmmad resident of Mangam Wagoora Kreeri, who had gone to offer condolences to someone there .

The vehicle bearing registration No. DL -CCAN 2769 is a personnel private vehicle owned by a common man.

In this regard case police has registered a case under FIR NO 1O/2019 U/S 147, 148,149,307,436,RPC in Police station Panzlla and investigation has been taken up further.
