Protest Held in Budgam After Woman Receives Bullet Injury

Budgam 11 December (KNB): Protest erupted in Budgam Village after a bullet hit a woman, allegedly shot from the nearby firing range, in woolina Ichgam area of Central Kashmiri’s Budgam district.

As per reports some aerial shots were fired from Sheikh ul-Alam International Airport, allegedly during the practice session of Indian forces that takes place at the location and lashed down on roofs of houses at village Woolina Ichgam.

Reports further revealed that a lady identified as Fatima, wife of Late Ghulam Rasool Rather of Woolina received a bullet injury in her leg and has been shifted to the District Hospital of Budgam for treatment.

After the incident, residents of the area took to the streets and blocked the main road connecting Doodpathri and Chadoora with Budgam.

“This is unacceptable! We demand strict action against those involved and closure of nearby firing range,” said a protestor.

Regarding the incident, officials said that they are ascertaining the facts. (KNB)
