“This will improve the quality of life of rural households and lead to women’s empowerment to achieve the goals of Antyodaya in Jammu and Kashmir”: Lt Governor
Srinagar 15 October (KNB): Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha has thanked the PM Narendra Modi for special package for Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM).
Expressing gratitude for the package, Lt Governor remarked: “I am grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a special package of Rs. 520 crore for J&K and Ladakh. This will improve the quality of life of rural households and lead to women’s empowerment to achieve the goals of Antyodaya in Jammu and Kashmir.”
The Union Cabinet, chaired by the PM Narendra Modi has approved a Special Package worth Rs. 520 crore in the UTs of J&K and Ladakh for a period of five years till FY 2023-24 and ensure funding of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) in the UTs of Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh on a demand driven basis without linking allocation with poverty ratio during this extended period.
The Jammu and Kashmir State Rural Livelihoods Mission has implemented the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission in the erstwhile state of J&K as “Umeed” programme. (KNB)
