President’s Visit to Kargil Cancelled Due to Inclement Weather

Srinagar 26 July (KNB): President of India Ram Nath Kovind’s scheduled visit for today to Kargil has been cancelled due to the unpleasant weather. 

As per officials, the plane which would have been boarded by the President to reach Kargil can face problems given the bad weather’s prevalence, and given that, the visit to Kargil has been cancelled.

However, it was further said that the President would visit the Warfare School, Gulmarg to lay a wreath there, which was decided following the bad weather condition hampering Kovind’s visit to Kargil. 

In Kargil, the President was going to pay homage at War Memorial Drass (Ladakh) on the 22nd anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Divas. 

It is pertinent to mention that Kovind is on a four-day visit to J&K. After his arrival, the security has been beefed up across Kashmir, which could be easily seen in the summer capital Srinagar. (KNB)
