“My collar was grabbed as around 20 security personals surrounded us”: Dr. Naseer Ahmad Mir
Srinagar 13 October (KNB): Senior professor, Head of Orthopedics SKIMS Medical College Dr. Naseer Ahmad Mir said that he and his colleague HOD Microbiology Dr. Khursheed were manhandled at the gate of the medical college by the security personals.
He said, “The members of the Faculty Forum SKIMS medical college had gone to meet the Advisor to J&K LG, Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar to discuss the issues faced by students as well as the staff of the medical college, but after we got done with the meeting and reached back to the college premises, we were denied entry. When we asked about the reason and tried to go inside, we were manhandled”.
He added, “meanwhile, the principal came and we asked him whether he had given such orders, to which he responded, “yes, I did, why didn’t you ask me permission to go for the meeting?”
He added that during the meeting we also demanded the we should not get extensions or off services as that would mars the career of the doctors in queue obviously resulting in the obstacle of promotions be it any professor or doctors in staff.
He alleged that the principal has been creating a mess in the college and the future of the medical college is dark under his authority.
He added, “he doesn’t take anyone in confidence, makes his own decisions without consulting any other officials. He thinks of everyone as a compotator rather than a facilitator”.
He claimed that the staff and students are suffering because of his incompetence towards his duty. (KNB)
