Srinagar 29 October (KNB): Police on Friday said that they have recovered three girls in Udhampur within 12 hours after they went missing from Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.
As per officials, on 26-10-2021, Police Station Kheerbawani received a written complaint from the parents of 03 minor girls hailing from Tulmulla area stating that their daughters had not returned home after school.
Police said that on hearing the complaint, a case vide FIR No. 62/ 2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kheerbawani and investigation was initiated.
They further said that on receipt of this report, SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar-IPS constituted a special team under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ganderbal Abdul Maajid-JKPS for tracking the missing girls.
During the course of investigation, after strenuous efforts a police team led by SHO Police Station Kheerbawani Inspector Sajad Ahmad along with the active assistance of Udhampur Police traced the said missing girls from Udhampur.
Pertinently, the missing girls were recovered within 12 hours and handed over to their parents after completion of all legal formalities, said police. (KNB)
