Rajouri 16 April(KNB): The security forces averted a major tragedy on Saturday morning after Police officers recovered and destroyed an improvised explosive device (IED) in Gurdan Chawa Village of Rajouri district.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the security forces launched a search operation in the Gurdan Chawa Village of Rajouri. A police officer said that they received information that militants planted IED
“A suspicious object was found lying alongside road which turned out to be an IED. Bomb Squad of police later took it in its possession for further destruction as per SOPs & through a controlled explosion which was then destroyed in a safer location,” said SSP Rajouri
An official said that timely action helped them avert a major tragedy, adding A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.(KNB)
