Police arrests Two JeM Militant associates in Awantipora; arms and ammunition recovered

Srinagar, May 05 (KNB) : Police arrested two Jash-e-Mohammad Militant associates along with a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday, official said. 

In a statement issued to News agency Kashmir News Bureau police said, based on a specific input, an operation was carried out on 04/05/23 by joint parties of J&K police, 42 RR, 03 RR & 180 Bn CRPF leading to arrest of 02 terrorist associates namely Bashir Ahmad and Gulzar Ahmad residents of Tral Awantipora

From their process 01.AK-56, AK Magazine, 56 AK live Rounds.04 Pistol 06 Pistol Magazines. 24 Pistol live Rounds were recovered. 

In this regard, a case FIR U/S of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Explosive Substances Act and Arms Act stands registered in Police Station Tral and investigation taken up.
