Police Arrests Three Peddlers in Pampore; Psychotropic Substance Recovered

Awantipora 29 January (KNB): Police station Pampore arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 11 grams substance, suspected to be heroin, from their possession.

Officials stated that a Police party on naka (Checkpoint) duty near MEI School Pampore, found three persons moving in suspicious circumstances and were stopped for checking.

“During checking, the persons were found to be carrying contraband substance suspected to be heroin (about 11 grams),” officials stated.

The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as Tabish Rafiq S/o Mohammad Rafiq Bhat R/o Namblabal pampore, Mudasir Ahmad S/o Mohammad Ashraf Dar R/o Namblabal Pampore and Sahil Arshid S/o Arshid Ahmad Rather R/o Kadalbal Pampore.

“Case vide FIR number 13/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pampore,” officials added.

Officials further stated that community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law. (KNB)
