Police Arrests Drug Peddler in Tral; Cannabis Recovered

Awantipora 20 February (KNB): Awantipora Police on Saturday claimed that they have arrested one drug peddler in South Kashmir’s Tral area and recovered contraband substance from his possession. 

The police station Tral arrested one drug peddler at the Naka post when the arrested person was moving in suspicious circumstances at Batagund Crossing in South Kashmir’s Tral, said the police on Saturday.   

The police officials have identified the drug peddlers as Bashir Ahmad Dar S/O Mohammad Subhan Dar, a resident of Larow Jagir Tral. Within drug peddlers’ possession, police claimed to have recovered 2 Kgs of contraband substances of grinded Cannabis. 

However, the case FIR 10/2021 has been registered against the drug peddler under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Tral.

Police appealed that “Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.” (KNB)
