Awantipora 09 March (KNB): Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler in the vicinity of MEI Pampore and recovered a poppy straw from his possession.
The police said that the arrested drug peddler has been identified as Yawer Rashid Sofi, a resident of Namblabal Pampore and was arrested while he was moving in suspicious circumstances at MEI Crossing Pampore.
Around 07 Kgs of contraband substances of Poppy Straw was recovered from the possession of the arrested person.
However, a Case FIR Number 26/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS stands registered at Police Station Pampore, said the officials. (KNB)
