PDP expresses concern over stopping additonal ration to J&K

Srinagar 24 October (KNB): PDP Additional spokesperson Rouf Bhat has expressed serious concern on stopping additonal ration to the people in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB, Rouf Bhat said that “the decision is ill through out and arbitrary as it will deprive people of Jammu and Kashmir of staple food.” He said

“Administration has stopped additional 35 kgs of rice and atta to the people of Jammu and Kashmir which was started by PDP government in 2016 as Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme (MMSFES) to supplement the National Food Security Act (NFSA) to support marginalized, disadvantaged and other sections of the society”.Bhat said

Bhat further said that under this scheme, all those persons who are covered under public distribution system would get additional quota of 35 kgs of ration per family at the subsidized rate of Rs 13 per kg for Atta and Rs 15 per kg for Rice and the State Government would bear the financial burden, the scheme was formulated in sucha a that there was uniform scale of rations for all areas and food preferences of consumers were taken care of.” Bhat adde

Statement further said that “anti-people decisions can be taken by only those administrators who don’t have concern for the welfare and life of the people, the stopping ration will impact people across Jammu and Kashmir as they are grappling with financial distress post covid situation.”

Bhat said the administration should have lend a helping hand to people instead it is taking anti-people decisions which will harm their living.statement further added (KNB)
