Srinagar Jan 25(KNB): PDP Ex state Secretary youth and constuiency incharge Habba Kadal Arif laigroo has expressed serious concern on stopping additional ration to the people in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB laigaroo said the decision is ill through out and arbitrary as it will deprive people of Jammu and Kashmir of staple food.
Laigroo said that administration has stopped additional 35 kgs of rice and atta to the people of Jammu and Kashmir which was started by PDP government in 2016 as Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme (MMSFES) to supplement the National Food Security Act (NFSA) to support marginalised, disadvantaged and other sections of the society.
Laigaroo further said under this scheme, all those persons who are covered under public distribution system would get additional quota of 35 kgs of ration per family at the subsidized rate of Rs 13 per kg for Atta and Rs 15 per kg for Rice and the State Government would bear the financial burden.
“The scheme was formulated in such a that there was uniform scale of rations for all areas and food preferences of consumers were taken care of, he said, adding anti-people decisions can be taken by only those administrators who don’t have concern for the welfare and life of the people.(KNB)
