Palhalan: Power Line Falls on Flock of Sheep, 04 electrocuted, protesters Block Srinagar Baramulla Highway

Baramulla 14 April(KNB): Four sheep died after a power line fell on ground in Palhallan area of North Kashmirs Baramulla district. Following the incident traffic was halted after protesters blocked Srinagar Baramulla highway.

Shepherds with their flock blocked Srinagar Baramulla highway and protested against PDD.

They were demanding compensation from the PDD department.

Eyewitnesses told news agency KNB, that the incident took place in the wee hours of Thursday.

Locals claimed that they called PDD employees when the power line snapped and fell down.

“They did not bother to come and lead to death of four sheep and a dog,” said one of the protester.

“Around 9 in the morning we took 200 sheep to national highway. We want to be compensated for losses incurred due to callous approach of PDD,” he said.

Meanwhile, after the interventions of local police the Srinagar-Baramulla National highway was opened for vehicular movement(KNB)
